Going strictly by the trailer, it looks pretty accurate to the comic. In which case it'll be fucking excellent but not everyone's cup of tea.

Episode 1 put me to sleep

The first volume really was just an opening. I'd say, give it until at least episode 6 (the end of the first volume) to make any sort of judgement.

Finished the first episode now. Can see why you might not like it, it's a pretty slow start.

Gonna give it a try this weekend I think, any other opinions so far?

I'm on the fourth episode and it's great. This episode in particular is just *chef's kiss*. If you're familiar with the comic, the scenes they've had so far with John Dee are just fantastic. So fucking tense.

I know nothing about the comic, I read a lot of comics these days, but it's primarily Marvel stuff right now. I'm going in entirely blind, i've only seen the trailer and know nothing else about it, but it seems like something i'd love.

Im curious how they handle Doctor Destiny, so Ill give it a shot.

He's probably the best character in this season, but he's also probably the character that's most different from the comic.

wrapped it up last night, also went in with no knowledge at all. i dug it but am curious how it compares to the comics. how condensed is the show compared to the comic side?

Same situation but enjoyed the first episode and eager to watch the rest when I have time.

Yes. The Sandman comic is set in the DC universe, but I always thought it was kind of begrudgingly so. It's really only the first arc that heavily features major DC characters.

Not very condensed at all from what I remember of the comics.

Just read the wiki of the character, seems the one I saw in JL was a slightly different version, that's okay though :)

Gaiman does heavily use some lesser known characters in later volumes though. And makes some fun nods towards some of the major ones.
