If you're talking about meat substitutes, that's a different question. I have nothing against them, though I've never really tried them. I don't see a reason why.

I like plant based foods when they are just being plant based foods and not mimicking meat. There is a way to do vegetarian fast food right, and McDonalds and Burger King do it in their chains in India. The McAloo Tikki burger at McD's India is as good as any McChicken Ive had.

The few times I sat down and made plant-based meat-replacement-things, they weren't very good.
Not to say they can't be good, just that I didn't like them and haven't really bothered trying anything else.

I'll enjoy a 45+ day aged steak once a year and Texas brisket but burgers are a really easy thing to replace, they're not much to begin with and have other stuff on it, it's close enough to not make the environmental cost of ground beef worth it anymore

seafood and cheese are harder to replace

but in general I'm adventurous with food, plant or animal

Though, at the same time, you really need to do something with tofu to make it palatable. Most meats, you can get away with just adding salt/pepper and cooking it, provided you use a suitable method for the piece you've got. Try that with tofu, and you don't get much of anything because it's such a neutral flavour on its own. The flip side of that is that it's extremely versatile and you can season it with just about anything, and that's pretty nifty, but it does mean that people that don't know how to prepare it will often end up not liking it and staying away from it.

In general, though, what you've said is my opinion on a lot of vegetarian/vegan imitations. Many of the imitations just end up trying too hard (often being pretty highly processed) and still don't end up being decent imitations. If I'm eating a vegetarian dish, I want to eat a dish that's not ashamed to be vegetarian and doesn't try to pretend to be something else.

Satan is the best meat alternative.

Unsure. Only thing ive tried is beef jerky. I didnt dislike it but it was a notable step down from regular. Would be willing to try more but there arent any nearby stores that sell anything.
