No. HBO the channel will still do original content, but they wont do original content for HBO Max. Its a little confusing, basically anything they air they also want aired on the cable channel, not just steaming only.

The good news is that they are.

Disney, Hulu, and ESPN+ all merged. Discovery and HBO are merging, I feel like it's only a matter of time before Amazon or Peacock eat Paramount as well. Netflix is on a decline so the shareholders may start looking for a buyout within the next few years.

HBO and HBO Max are two separate brands, but this is still awful because HBO Max shows are killing it right now

HBO is stuff you listedstuff that airs on the HBO Cable channel first. HBO Max is stuff like Hacks, Made for Love, Love Life, The Flight Attendant, Raised By Wolves, Rap S***, The Sex Lives of College Girls, Minx, Peacemaker, 10 Year Old Tom, etc

its all on the HBO streaming service anyway, so the distinction doesnt really matter to the user.

When you can make bank with reality programs about catty housewives, or attractive people in a house, why bother with the complexities of producing scripted shows? Also, the chances you will lose money is much greater with the latter.
