the place Ive been living for the last 6-7 years, i would sit like 3 to 5 feet away from the tv. Im starting a new job tomorrow and am living with some family members during the week because theyre right near the job site. i have to sit like 10 feet back from basically the same size tv (like 40-42 inches) Im used to. this is a difficult adjustment. i dont like it.

how far away do you sit and how big is your TV?

unrelated but i hate how much of incredible level design in the dark souls games (specially 3 and Elden ring) is ruined by trying to be gank fucking central all the time. like holy fuck, how many enemies do they have to hide offscreen/behind shit

Consoles: 5-6 feet away on a 28" TV, 7-8 feet away on a 52" TV
PC: 3 feet away on a 24" monitor

like 10 feet or more just cause of the shape of my living room, I had a 43" but it was getting too hard to see subtitles so I got a 65" instead

PC 27" at like 2ft away.

Farthest I've been away was 15ft or so at my parent's old house. The end of a J-shaped leather couch had the 40" TV in the wooden shelving on the loop side of the J. I sat on the opposite end when they'd watch House MD.

I guess the longest was at university Chemistry class. Maybe 100ft away to a 150" projector? Marketing class had one 4x that size and surround sound speakers. That was 2006.

24" monitor, a couple feet away I guess when I'm not leaning in like a sweaty tryhard.

At least 10 feet away, ideally more like 15-20.

Probably why I am almost 40 and still have decent vision despite being a computer person (not 20-20, but don't need any correction).

edit: Oh, TV size. It is 65 inches. My old one was 47 and I still used the same setup.

I game on my laptop so arm reach.

Action games - I sit in my chair about 4 or 5 ft away

Turn-based/stategy/visual novels/etc. I lay in my bed about 10 ft away

For years I had a 32" and was about 8' away. Then moved to my own house and sat about 12' away from the same TV which was a bit far. 2 years ago I upgraded to a bigger TV, I think it's a 55".
