Sorry for the second topic, but no one understood what I was asking for last time. I've italicized the new parts of this topic.

BY recent let's say 3 years old at the most, so sometime after 2018.

First of all, I wanna make this clear. Please respect my boundaries, and the word NO when I say NO ISEKAI PLEASE. I don't care how good the series is, I need a break from it, and I feel like every manga community I ask recommendations for mostly just says "but these are the really good isekais."

Me needing a break has nothing to do with a lack of quality, I need to read a bunch of non-isekai before returning to it. I'm kinda dreading getting tons of responses recommending them, so please prove me wrong.

Also, if someone recommends something that is clearly isekai, please call them out. A big part of why I'm asking here instead of the anime board is because the place loves to try to trick you into reading something you've made it clear you're not interested in, and no one calls them out.

Anyways, I haven't been able to get myself to read more manga in a while, despite really being into Gantz and over halfway through it, as well as I need to read something else for the moment, and I wanna try a different approach. I created this topic because I love manga, and I wanna get my brain into reading more again mode.

This is what I'd like:

Something fast paced (so no slice of life)
Something that is serious first and foremost(so no comedies.)
Something with pretty good art
Something that's currently ongoing, but with less than than 6 volumes out so far so I don't burn myself out reading too much of a series at once, and can return to in year with a lot more released.
Something that's either sci-fi or fantasy.

Also, it'd be a nice bonus if the MC had a small group of friends by the end of the first chapter, with at least 1 or 2 of them being a woman or enby, and they saw each other as equals that can trust each other. I know that I'm probably asking for too much, but if you can recommend anything to me like this, I'd super appreciate it.

Your requirements are incessant. It's not reasonable to expect us to do all that work for you. I search for specific manga criteria all the time, and I do it by myself.

What requirements should I get rid of, and still be left with something sci-fi or fantasy that just started a few years ago?

I also read the first volume of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

Like with Eminence of Shadows getting classified as in isekai, for the life of me I don't get why Frieran gets classified as Slice of Life, way too much constantly happens for this to feel like slice of life to me at all. Liking this a lot!

How partial are you to Murim/Wuxia stuff and manhwa (korean webtoons)?

Because there are a couple I can think of that could fit your description.

As far as recent stuff, I'm not really the right person to ask since I've been mainly reading more realistic stuff lately, and not much action or scifi. The few I can think of are all isekai like Grimgar (and that one doesn't seem to have many chapters of the manga available, as opposed to the anime and LN).

That Eminence one does look cool though. From what I read of the synopsis, the protagonist was basically a chuunibyou in his previous life, then got isekai'd and decided to turn his delusions into reality by taking over.
