They've never modded me for directly stating my perspective of them in posts. I try to be unbiased and give them credit where it's due, but not everything say is favorable obviously. I also take shots and make jokes when they let me dispute moderations and they never came down on me for it and doubled down the punishment. I don't think they're as trigger happy as some claim. Though I definitely stand by some my jokes being really obvious in ways others don't get modded for. All depends which mod sees it.

I mean we could discuss it here if you want? I just assumed you would mod it immediately when trying to discuss it and I didn't want to distract from other topics.

I am curious about who modded it and their reasoning on why they think the term itself is racist because I think some members on the team might have a complete misunderstanding of it.

I created a poll (which resulted in the ban) that asked public opinion on whether or not the term was racist and nearly half said it was not. No form of it is filtered out on the site. I feel like it makes sense to clarify.

Being mixed race myself and growing up around both black and white families I have never heard of the term being considered racist.

There is no prejudice or discrimination with it. Does the mod team mod any type word that is race specific? Would "redbone" for example be a racist term in the mod team's eyes?

No argument on it being offensive. Offensive does not equate to racist or discriminatory though.

Modern usage doesn't specifically concern being servile to white people either. It is mostly used as a catch-all for anyone perpetuating the subjugation of minorities through their actions, opinions, or behavior, intentionally or not (Candace Owens being a prime example). In my (and a lot of people within minority cultures) opinion, it is important to call people that take these types of actions out.

I don't think your team is going to change your mind on the term (because I sense animosity in all of your posts) but hopefully you listened just a little bit on the perspective of someone that is actually part of the culture. I'll avoid the term but you should probably update the T.O.S. to include non-hateful terms like it. I'm back to focusing on work. Have a good one.
