havent eaten McDonalds in like a decade because its trash tier burgers, but tastes change as we age so I decided to try it again. My tastes have only grown more refined and sophisticated, so I expect it to be even more trash than b4

ordered:
Zukugiri-Potato and jalapeo mayo burger
Garlic shrimp sandwich
Medium fries (these arent new, theyve always had them)
Mango pulp in McFizz(R) tropical fruits
and McFlurry(R) mixed berries and pancake taste

apparently all these items are part of the Hawaiian burgers promotion campaign. They also have a loco moco burger, but I dont eat eggs

How is the garlic shrimp sandwich? Is it real shrimp?

That McFlurry sounds amazing.

review time:

overall, way better than I expected it to be.

Zukugiri-Potato and jalapeo mayo burger: the zukugiri-potato was basically just a crispier crunchier hash brown, which added some nice texture to the burger. The jalapeo mayo added a good flavor without being overly spicy (though I wouldnt have minded if it was because I enjoy very spicy things). There was also some bbq sauce on it that balanced out the light spiciness with a tad of sweetness. The burger patty itself was not the best, but as a sandwich it came together very well.

Garlic shrimp sandwich: the fried shrimp fillet (yes real shrimp @MagicalPrincess ) had a good crunchiness and flavor to it, which I liked. My first few bites had no garlic flavor though because the sauce was not evenly applied, but once I hit it, it was a very welcome addition. There was a lemon tartar sauce on it also which I thought was decent but the sandwich probably would have been fine without it.

both sandwiches had a bun that is not the typical bun McDonalds uses, more of a wheat bun with seeds or grain or something on top, which also boosted the quality of both sandwiches.

Medium fries: they were fries, not the best, not the worst

Mango pulp in McFizz(R) tropical fruits: basically a mango soda with pured fruit in it. It was tasty and definitely tasted like a tropical island. Was a good addition to the meal.

McFlurry(R) mixed berries and pancake taste: pretty good. Basically a soggy chunk of pancake like cake covered in ice cream and frozen fruit flavored pieces. They didnt look like actual berries to me tbh, more like some other purple-bluish fruit(s), but it was still pretty good.

I wish they'd do funner food promos in the US like these. We always just get hamburgers with the same recycled themes.

Yeah we get stuff like order Kid Cudis favorite meal and the only unique thing is that he puts BBQ sauce on his fries instead of ketchup. So itll be a normal combo but it comes with a BBQ sauce thing to dip your fries in.

Im not sure. Kewpie is very popular here so I wouldnt be surprised, but I also wouldnt be surprised if McDonalds just does whatever supplier is cheapest to buy in bulk from

yeah but you get limited edition Mountain Dew flavors every season and the best we get here is fried chicken Pepsi

We don't get nothing like this in England save for the fries sadly. Although I did try a triple cheeseburger for the first time recently. Not bad.

its less exciting than that. Its Pepsi that is less sweet and supposed to be the perfect pairing for fried chicken. I think its a seasonal thing, all the grocery stores just started selling it

Most of those are store exclusive though. It kinda sucks. I really want a Pepsi machine that's like a Coke Freestyle machine.
