Also, the big name characters have mostly had their stories told. Guardians of the Galaxy being a surprise hit does not mean that any actor can play any character and it'll automatically be great. The actors that matter, the characters that matter, have mostly moved on and been written out. I don't care about the Hulk or Thor. I don't care about Shang Chi or the Eternals. For example: If a movie or show is standalone there will be a large group of people that complain "it doesnt tie into anything", however if a movie or show is heavily connected "its just an advertisement to another thing" Also every character also has its own fanbase which gets wilder in team up movies "Thos is too dumb now", "they changed ms marvels powers", "wanda wasnt supposed to be that evil, its bad for women", etc Also theres comics accuracy crowd where any deviation from the material will start an uproar. Theyve also put up more divisive stuff lately. In the past, everything was usually a banger for the majority or just "fine" for the majority.
