C. It was basically time I spent daydreaming about what I was going to do when I got home.

Church always felt miserable. Go there just to sit around for the slowest 2-3 hours of my life

I didn't have to go to church, but my parents made me go to a Saturday school thing that was run in a church. It was before my parents made me do chores so it didn't totally ruin the weekend, but it was such a waste of time because all of the work was really easy. They did buy me donuts on the way though which was cool.

What kind of church you go to thats 3 hours

I can understand how the subject can be, but as someone who went to Southern Baptist churches, it's impossible to not pay attention when the preacher starts going ham on that gospel

The only time I ever went to church was when I slept over at one of my friend's house, though we just played and ate snacks and didn't do any dumb religious crap.

Im black and every black church I went to had a morning service that was about an hour long and a late morning/evening service thats as 2-3 hours long. Ive never been to a black church that wasnt like this.

Depends on the church. Some of them can be pretty engaging the whole way through.

When I was old enough to stick around for the sermon but still too young to be able to sit in the pew without being antsy it was pretty bad. I didn't mind going for big occasions but like this time of the year it was pretty bad.

However I get why people go and get something out of it even if I'm no longer a Christian.

God help you. I've heard horror stories about black churches taking forever to let out.

Can't say, I never had to go to church growing up, and never went on my own.

double church churches usually have regular church and then study groups or focus groups as the second church

Aside from the (thankfully not very many so far) funerals ive been to (which was of course, sad), every experience ive had in a church in my life so far have been EXCRUCIATINGLY boring.

Once a year with school, right around christmas.. ugh i always hated that shit lol.

I can see how it would appeal to someone who's really into the religion... but that in and of itself seems a bit weird.

Catholic mass is the most boring and miserable church experience I've ever been through. Did it every Sunday from when I was a child to 16. Latin mass was like 10000x worse. Lame ass songs too smh no one has any of that shit on their ipod.

At least those megachurch weirdos have electric guitars.

Eh every sunday for an hour. Not so bad

i mostly stayed with my grandma on the weekends and did farm stuff, so it was like a break for me. Honestly i look back on those days very fondly

Then when i got older we had youth groups on wednesdays where we played basketball and stuff, it was good way to make friends

I went to a church once where they didn't fuck around. You were out of there in like 20 minutes. Pretty much went through the main parts and did the communion then immediately out. No homily or songs. I believe they did a service every half hour so it was pretty tight.

Other places the sermon is actually pretty decent where there's a good story linked to some scripture. Really depends on who's telling it.

The church I went to growing up was a dry af hour long service full of chant style songs. The only thing I liked was checking out some of the beautiful artwork

As a Catholic I can tell you that a person who hates sitting in Church, but has to be there is best off in a Catholic mass. Its by far the shortest service out of all the denominations and you can almost set a watch to it. The longest services are the black baptist churches. Ive sat in one for five hours before.

Tbh I never got anything out of going to church. Like, none of the messages or anything stuck with me.

All I knew was that I was being forced to go somewhere against my will (which I had gotten enough of, thanks to school) when I could be doing fun things.
