I have a rather beefy AC, its temperature says its like 18c and I believe it - it's rather chill next to the unit. Problem is it's a scorching 27c about 5 feet away from it. Multiple things can affect how an ac works. Sometimes it just takes a long time to cool a room. First time I used mine it took all day for the temp to normalize. High humidity can make it take longer. Bad circulation, poor insulation, open windows/doors, or the unit may just be defective in some way.
