There's plenty who will disregard every single number of convince themselves this can't be permanent.

yea, I remember hearing about how bad that heatwave was, and how so many people died from it.

a similar heatwave in the US wouldn't have as many casualties since so many homes and facilities have central AC, but it's still scary to think of, how so many places on earth don't have it and how vulnerable many can be.

Heres where that crazy high number came from. Apparently someone went back and did a study and tallied a whole bunch of other mortalities too. Notably they added over ten thousand from Italy. They do not seem to pay any close attention to the actual cause of mortality and they may/may not have used a range of years for some ascents of data collection.

Science is observable, repeatable and testable. Dont just go believing sources just because they say so.

Not quite because of services and stuff they have in place to try and get responses faster. But it'll still be bad among the elderly, those living with complex medical issues, and the young.

Eh. I'll worry about it when it kills me specifically. Until then, it's a non issue.

That kind of thinking is what lead to the shit Texas went through a year ago when it got cold as fuck and their power grid failed.

South Europe definitely needs it and is often hot enough to warrant it.

But in the UK and 'Norse' countries etc. where we used to get one hot day every few years? Never seemed worth it and then you have the fact houses are designed to keep as much heat in as possible. Couple this with people just not being used to temperatures above mid 20's and no idea how to handle it you have a lot of deaths.
