The premise is that a doctor tanks his career by choosing to operate on a child rather than the mayor of his town, leading to the mayor's death. Years later, he learns the child is a sociopath and grew up to be a serial killer. He feels duty bound to stop him. Just be warned that it is an extremely slow burn. NoxObscuras 07/31/22 2:20:12 PM #31:	I second the suggestion of Monster. Fantastic anime that I always recommend to people that haven't seen it. Same for Baccano. And watch Baccano with English voices. It takes places in prohibition Era Chicago and they really nailed the mobster accents. What I really like about Baccano is that it tells the story through the point of view of like a dozen characters. So the plot slowly starts to make sense as you see more of what actually happened. In the same mafia vein, I'd also Recommend 91 Days. It's about a man who wants to avenge his family that was murdered. Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom might be up your alley as well. It's about assassins that have no memory of their past.
