It's an IT role and they're asking about my sex and drinking habits and if I go to church.

That doesn't seem legal.

Bet if you are white and say you don't they take it at face value, but if you are a minority and do the same they'll be skeptical.

A lot of churches are hypocritical. Its funny reading the yelp reviews where former employees kind of spill the tea on what goes on behind the scenes at churches. I think the younger generation will take a "i am christian, but dont believe in going to church" approach instead focusing on a personal relationship with god.

Seriously, I got reprimanded for asking an interviewee if they drove a car or not because supposedly that was classist and discriminatory to people who don't own cars. Most of those questions is just asking for people to lie about.

i saw this when i was last looking for a job. seems illegal, but i'm sure it's not through some loophole. most religious people are immoral anyway

You shouldn't feel insulted if you don't own a personal vehicle. Likewise employers need to ask if it's pertinent.
