Just curious what people in here do for first dates. Personally always go for something low key like a walk and maybe some cheapish fast food place. If she reacts badly because I've not taken her to some fancy restaurant or showered her with gifts then tbh it's not someone I would really want to be with anyway.

Imagine how hard it is to be a millionaire and wanting to be with someone who loves you and not because of your money. I'd probably just hide it until after we got married and pretend I was just a regular guy before that.

Do women only date rich guys or what

Yeah I have a pretty well paying job and my own house so Im not too bothered in that front.

I dont get it

I just be me. I feel it's not sincere to put on some kinda front on a first date. I let em see me for who I am as much as my personality allows. Meaning I'm more reserved when I don't know a person that well

Well TC, my advice is date the kind of women that you dated before you found success, people don't change they only get older

I have never worried about gold diggers and acted differently.

Anyway I usually just let the woman know I'm probably not what she's looking for, but that makes it hard to get a second date

But I don't see the point in cheaping out on a person you're supposed to make a good impression on

When I was dating I always went for authenticity. I preferred active dates where we did something that allowed us to get to know each other better than, say, sitting in a movie theater. Dinner and a walk through the park was a common go-to. I wasn't interested in impressing him, and back then I was too broke to be targeted by gold diggers, but I think that may be less of an issue in the gay community anyway. Ultimately I always figured the dude's going to get to know the real me eventually anyway, there's no reason to try and act different or misrepresent myself. Generally speaking it worked very well for me.

Maybe ok for a date if you are a teenager, but beyond that, no its not acceptable. Going for a coffee is classier.

I'd be all for a woman ditching me because I took her to McDonald's for a first date. I have a certain amount of class and I want my dates to as well.

Not saying you should blow money on a first date at all, but c'mon.

Just go middle of road. If I was a chick and some nerd took me to McDonalds, I'd shut my legs so hard and never put out! I'd ditch that geek, no matter how much money he has >_>

Nothing is wrong with fast food in general. But on a date it's just trashy. Like obviously don't take her to a three Michelin star restaurant on a first date. But don't take her to McDonald's either. You're going from one extreme to another.

Plenty of restaurants out there with reasonably priced menus.

My go to was always maybe going bowling or something like a walk then either to a nearby bar or fast food. Never had any issues. Am happily married.

First date with the girl I'm seeing i bought the sushi and she bought candy and movie tickets... which ended up with her spending a bunch more than me. So I got popcorn and drinks but still spent less cause of an impulse buy of a frisbee that somehow cost 30 dollars. Lol.

Well, now that is different. You are meeting up to bowl and then if going well, you are walking together to somewhere nearby and probably weighing simple options. That is different than planning a fast food date.
