Joe Rogan took aim at left-leaning critics who accused him of being a conservative and said that hes a bleeding heart liberal when it comes to a lot of shit. Rogan, who has drawn fire from liberals for hosting guests who have criticized COVID-19 vaccines and pandemic-related lockdown measures, made the comments during his Spotify podcast on Saturday, during which he interviewed comedian-actor Andrew Schulz. Schulz and Rogan began discussing politics, including recent comments by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) that the Supreme Court decision to legalize same-sex marriage was clearly wrong. Their conversation was transcribed by the news site Mediaite. Rogan blasted Cruz and the GOP for opposing gay marriage, calling it homophobic. He also sounded bewildered that many of his liberal critics accuse him of supporting the Republican Party. Its not just abortion rights, but now theyre going after gay marriage too, which is so strange to me, Rogan told his audience of millions. Gay marriage is not silly. Its marriage its marriage from people that are homosexual and its, for them, its important. They want it.

Rogan said Cruzs comments as well as the recent Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade is the kind of shit that keeps me from being a Republican. People will say like, Oh, you know, youre a secret conservative. Like you can suck my dick, Rogan said. You dont know what the fuck youre talking about. Im so far away from being a Republican. He added: Just because I believe in the Second Amendment and just because I support the military and just cause I support police. Like I was on welfare as a kid. I think its important, he said. I think having a social safety net is crucial. We should help each other. Were supposed to be one big community. Im a bleeding heart liberal when it comes to a lot of shit.

I mean, there's plenty of moderate Republicans that are fine with bare minimum social safety nets too

I don't even listen to the dude and even I know he's not conservative, but we live in a society to where anything other than far left is conservative.

I watched the clip where he mentions this and I'm incline to believe so. It's just funny to see the amount of dislikes this clip has gotten as well because even though Joe Rogan "isn't a conservative", majority of his fanbase definitely leans right.

So for every Ben Shapiro or flat earther he gives a platform to, he also gives a platform to the lady that says it's a sexual violation of a baby's rights if you try to change their diaper without their permission, or some other whack that has supposedly been abducted by aliens a dozen times.

If people can't use their own critical thinking when it comes to listening to people like Rogan, or Stern back in the day, then the issue is with themselves, not with the content creator.

This is all coming from someone that knows Rogan from nothing other than the work he did with the UFC. I don't listen to his show, and the only clips I've ever seen is 5-10 seconds if someone posts them on my FB, Twitter, or IG feed before I can scroll past it.

Not a single person on this planet is that interesting and I think he realizes this. He's gone to the point of filling time with literally anything because I think he realizes he doesn't really have anything to say.

I very well may suffer from not listen to him enough (or at all) to truly understand what all the hate is for, because on the surface, it just sounds like a lot of people hate the show because he gives a platform to a lot of people that don't like. Because whenever I look through the lists of guests he has, I see many left leaning celebrities and politicians.

That's why I really didn't want to go all-in on defending his show, as I really would be coming from a place of ignorance.

Even if he had a perfectly "balanced" list of guests (he does not), it would still be fundamentally problematic to give bad actors large platforms.
