Arrabbiata to be precise

I really had to see if this stuff is really worth its 7-8 dollar price tag (over twice, or even three times as much as most brands)

It sure smells great, I have to admit

It got super oily to me as we ate it. Became very unplesant.

Rao's sauce is the only sauce I'll buy. You can buy a 2 pack at Costco for the price of 1 at a normal grocery store.

I used to think arabbiata was arab related

Never heard of that sauce, is it any different from prego sauce and why not home made?

Also is 8 dollars really that expensive for a whole jar? Is it a one time use per pasta dish or can you not use it for multiple pasta dishes?

It's too expensive. I'd rather just buy 4 jars of Prego or Ragu and have slightly not as good sauce.

Muir Glen is pretty cheap for a good sauce that won't leave you eating red shit

I didn't get the sauce because I'm not doing gourmet when im just cooking for myself and $8 is over the top. I did try the pasta because it was $2 (vs like $1 for other brands) and I thought it was really darn good

Rao's is the best premade sauce but still can't even hold a candle to making it yourself.

I mean yeah but making good homemade pasta sauce is really expensive even compared to Rao's.

Not really. It just takes a long time. Canned tomatoes are like one of the cheapest foods in the world.

The spices are what are the most expensive unless you want sauce that's just tomatoes. I can't imagine eating pasta sauce that isn't full of several veggies.

That's nasty to me but to each their own. My sauce consists of tomatoes, light olive oil, garlic, salt, and basil. Sometimes oregano. I only add vegetables if I'm making something that specifically requires them.

i just got into raos recently since it's a good bit healthier than ragu/prego and stuff. way less sugar added to it. like mentioned if you have a costco membership it's like 2 for $10 i think. still like double other sauce but better than like 3x at least.

Just about every sauce brand has a less sugar version
