What exactly are you saying? People walk into kitchens when mad about their order, but they do it out of stupidity rather than malice? Or that someone customers are literally so stupid that they don't know what personal space or employee areas are. I don't agree with Hanlon's razor.

Name a specific item. I've already pointed out itt multiple times that I used to work at a TB and can confirm there's literally nothing. No prep knives. No weapons. They use ice cream scoops to portion product. The box cutters have like 1mm safety blades.

And even if there was something else, you'd just be bitching that they were injured in that way, too. When acting in self-defense in the heat of the moment you are not obligated to look for the least harmful way to deter the attack; whatever works in the moment to avoid harm is legal. Why are you hung up on the water, specifically, when apparently you're okay with different weapons being used?

Because the very nature of water is taking it a step far consider what that shit can do when its hot enough. And given that it also has some range to and can be somewhat unpredictable if there are anyone else in its way they too are getting potentially hit. It would be the same shit if they were armed and others were near by.

See THIS is escalation. Grabbing a knife and THREATENING death on the people who's behavior is THREATENING harm is escalation. This still leaves the ball in the aggressor's court. Unless you are actually prepared to take a fucking life, you are still bottoming this encounter. MAYBE they don't call your bluff and walk away, or MAYBE they do and attack anyways.

For those here who actually work/worked for Taco Bell, during you induction training did the trainer at any point say "if a customer steps over the imaginary line to behind the counter, feel free to maim or murder them. Even if they are just standing their shouting, their life is forfeit, just make sure to scream self defence at the top of your lungs over and over as you do it"

By the way, do we know exactly what the order was and how the employees refused to do something? You can't trust customers to know what they're talking about without full context. They also may have been rude.

Well judging by the video actually behind the counter and not the goofy space between it. And if you back away from a situation and the aggressor continues to follow you would be a big thing.

We pretty much only have the statement from the customers and their lawyer, which also claims they were locked in which we know isn't the case so it's all suspect.

Formal training in any customer facing position when a customer behaves in a threatening fashion is 1: assume it's a robbery, 2: tell them they can take whatever they want and just pray they don't decide to kill you anyways.
