I was kind of shocked it wasn't Atlantic. I think this is what's going to prevent any way someone would possibly nail it on a two-shot.... but for sure still simple. A good one for newbies to jump in on.

Also, I never knew it was called the "Southern Ocean".

I got it from Celts had no writing. So early on I was thinking a country, but that was nothing so I tried empire. That got me to Roman, then I kind of recognized the bit about sources being from others nearby. I also went ahead and guess "their," so I knew I was looking for a 5-letter plural of a people covered by Roman historians.

Yeah, for me, I just know too many of these articles are about religion, so I hit on that not super super early, but when I was blanking out on whatever to do next.

By that time, I already had that it was generally in the UK region since no real hits other areas.... so I was like "6 letters? Maybe Celtic"......

Then it was just about finding the first word from there for me.

Figured out he had an Arabic name really early on because of the occurrence of the prefix al-. Then I basically just started naming Middle Eastern countries, got Israel and Palestine, and went from there.

I also accidentally skipped yesterday's puzzle, as it turns out. Oops.

I always like seeing those big words that can be prepositions out in plain text, lile today's "opposite." It also turned out that was my way to the answer, once I got the three-letter word it can go before with a hyphen and saw that word in the first paragraph. 27 guesses in the end

Noooooo. Lol.

I figured out from letter count that I likely had an eight letter, landlocked country in Northern or Southern Africa, and it didn't appear to be Eswatini.

I had two choices. If I had paid more attention I probably could have noticed the bit about Zimbabwe being to the northeast. First guess was Zimbabwe.

This pisses me off. I love country puzzles but I didn't really get into the focus today. Still got:

What in the Hell is going on in this one. Hair? Colors? Skin? .... but not paints, dyes, albinism, or anything? Like, I am confused.

I thought I was onto something but now I don't think I'll get it. I got a lot of good words off the bat but now, I'm seeing something about a cream gene. I have never heard of this and likely won't know this word.

I don't know anything about horses, I just tried it because I had finally narrowed it down to something horse-related and it fit the letter count. Even then, I kinda just got it by accident, since I thought that was a breed of horse, not a color. Not bad. Never knew Dark Energy was an actual thing. I got Space-based words fast, as Time and Light are two early words I use.
