They felt there was no reason for her to volunteer that information and that she should have just kept her mouth shut. Personally, I think Black twitter is very hard on her. The shit she went through being cast as Rue has made her very aware of black issues which she has been vocal about going back to when she was a preteen. She's made missteps when speaking out on politics, but she means well. She's also aware of and has talked about her privileges in the industry being a biracial black woman going back to before Black Panther's release. Other than that, I can't see her as a villain. Its just that her character was not well received in a franchise where the fan base is quite rabid (quite often in a bad way). The general audience loved Lando and Finn. In fact, from what i've read online, people felt that Finn wasn't given enough screen time and his character potential essentially wasted. What I'm really trying to say is that what you're trying to say may not be there. At least, its an assertion that can't be proven without equal evidence to point to the contrary. I'm all for female leads and minority characters. No doubt the general fanbase can be bad, and no doubt there's racism and a general lack of desire for minorities. But how Rose and Jar Jar was treated doesn't seem to be one of them. Look, Hollywood and hte US in general has a problem with racism and even sexism.
