Gave myself a #4 buzzcut today cuz inflation be off the chain.

Hardest parts: getting the crown/not missing spots, and lining up the back.

Took me 80-90 mins. I envy you bicbros that just do it without a care twice a week.

I have really bad eyesight, so even though I can line up some of my hair, I have to take off my glasses (never got into contacts), so all of my self-performed haircuts end up being buzz cuts.

That was def a challenge, going glasses-off to do it. 75% of the cut is by feel+repetiton.

And i still cant quite wrap my head around how to do precision shit (i.e. fade it down) because movements are backwards in a mirror.

Well yeah. That's why the vast majority of us pay someone who has gone to school for it and had plenty of practice.

I know how to use the clippers & been cutting my hair since high school. When i went to bootcamp with a buzzcut, they still shaved my head...at that point, I could gave myself buzzcuts with my sides faded and passed military haircut standards in my early 20s throughout my military career once i made it to my 1st base EZ. It got to the point where i cringe at the barber doing my hair cause half the time it aint what i wanted. I even fixed my fades going shorter than the haircut i paid for.

Yeah buzzcuts. Either youll get better or stay with buzzcuts until youre confident enough to go to the next level of giving yourself a haircut.

Ive kept to simple side fading for my hair for over 20 years. When i go get a haircut, i tip generously & try to get a haircut i cant do on my own. TBH, i just still stick to fades on the side and top trims for maintenance. Simple clean and cool. I dont take scissors to my hair at all. I didnt want to learn using scissors on my own. Made some day i will try it lol
