Didnt one of the current devs pretty much say it wasnt? Maybe it was a different game but I was like Hoo boy, you are going to regret that. You cant get a little bit pregnant, and dont say the quiet part outloud, gamers arent that dumb.

I kind of hope this bombs so that they don't try this again for awhile. If you only got $10-20 worth of upgrade, charge $10-20 dollars to upgrade. This selling would just prove we'll accept the fuckin next time too.

They'll come out with Uncharted 5 and have Sully with no mustache. Then 2 years later, they'll give him back the mustache and charge $70 for that version too. Lol

Amazing how much Sony has tanked a lot of their reputation in order to try and push that $70 price tag. It's also why their crossgen upgrade nonsense has been a complete mess. Now we're getting a rather standard PS3 remaster being sold for $70.

it's funny, because reading through that account, people are apparently making excuses as to why Joel isn't going prone like in TLoU2 because he's too old.

this is a project I saw some potential in, but if the clip in the OP is a fair representation of the game, then that's really unfortunate.

That's the 3 chapter DLC storyline. And for some reason it cost $80 alone. People scratch their heads over why it's $10 more than a full release. But, it becomes the best selling DLC of all time anyway. The end.

If this is the final product, then it seems like Naughty Dog is willing to take a hit for the sake of trying to capitalize on the buzz from the HBO show. People were shitting on this back when it was believed itd at least incorporate the sequels gameplay and spice up the enemy encounters, now theres really no defending it.

By now you should have the PS4 remaster anyways. No reason to buy this.

Damn I would have gotten this at like $50 if it has TLOU2 gameplay. Maybe $30 one day if I want a pretty replay. But there's something to be said about playing a game with the original art. Slapping high quality assets on old animations always looks weird. The level design looks dated in the clip as well in contrast to the graphics.

the quality of the video in the OP wasn't that good, IMO, so I honestly couldn't tell, but with the topic I linked to, you can bring the clips to HD.

even so, despite the better visuals, it doesn't look like it does anything new from the original, from what I've seen.

Druckmann hit gold with the first game and thinks he can just recycle it. This is the state of the industry nowadays.

Not sure why devs insist on throwing away all that good will they've earned over the years.

the PS5 in general is really hurting sony

not only are they selling it at a loss they cant get the heavy software sales they normally do as MS has hit them hard on that front

right now sony is up against nintendo and their nigh infinite iconic IPs

and MS and their nigh infinite money

the one thing they have had before was their ability to get the software sales but MS has taken that from them with gamepass

but from what I've seen, outside of the visuals, they did add the accessibility options from TLoU2 and the work bench thing.

I don't think remakes have to necessarily add to the story, but I do feel that they should aim to improve on the original in some meaningful way.

and from what we've seen from the leaks, I do not believe that it has done so.

tbh, it's been a long time since I've played the original, so I likely forgot about it.

tbf, Neil Druckmann is the one who lied about it, saying that they learned from Uncharted 4 and TLoU2, making sure to improve on the combat, but it looks like none of that is true.

Why would they want to remake it already? The remaster is only a couple years old and still looks good enough. It would make more sense to wait until the end of the PS5 cycle and then utilize all the new bells and whistles for a full remake
