Whether it's MCU, Star Wars, anime, video games, or anything else, there's a small but vocal contingent of posters who only care about the plot, nothing else. No music, no visuals, no narrative, themes, humor, or emotion, only the plot, nothing else.

This is a mistake. First of all, there's more to a good story, movie, video game, etc. than just its plot. Second, the rest of the world does care about those things. There's a reason Avatar was as popular as it was, there's a reason DBZ and DBS continue to be popular. If you can't see what makes those appealing that's your failing, not the media's. Star Wars I and II are not better than VII and VIII, the Silmarillion isn't a better book than The Hobbit. If you're going to critique media, please at least recognize that your opinion isn't objective fact and there are reasons why people might like things that you do not. Please stop saying, "I don't get why <thing> is popular, it's generic poopoo," when it's just something that doesn't appeal to you, and mostly only to you.

If you want to seriously analyze the worth of a product, you have to seriously look at all of its pieces. You can't just discount it for one quibble you've obsessed about.
