I still get ads on like every freaking show. I contacted Hulu thinking something is wrong, and they said No Ads is only for Hulu Originals and a very few network shows.

Such false advertising... Wtf.

Only time I ever see an ad on Hulu is during an inning change on a baseball game or right before the start of Mayans. But even the ad before it is usually just an ad for the show saying "new season episodes blah blah".

And yes the Peacock Network one is BS.
I pay $100 for no ads and some of the movies still have them. At least they front load them so like the last hour doesn't have any at all... well if you can ever get the fuckin ap to ever let you finish anything.

Last 3 movies I tried watching kept shutting the app off.

Are you talking about the live TV option? I have no ads Hulu and I dont have any ads other than the 2 second This show returns to XYZ Channel on this date which I dont mind. I dont have the live TV tier.

Hulu indeed sucks. I only have them because I got the $1/mo deal last year in black friday. My principles wouldn't allow me to pay a considerable amount of money for streaming service with ads.

There's a trick to skipping ads on hulu. I've had the all-ads version of hulu for years and haven't watched a single one. Feels good

Back out during or before commercial go back in then use directional buttons to spot passed commercial skips it. Works on Roku devices. Not sure about others

Sometimes you have to hit start at beginning and it'll take you to start of show or episode if it starts back at commercial but then will work the rest of the time for that one

You can do this but the last time I had Hulu they limit your video quality on browser to max of 720p or 480p I forget.

Your Hulu is broken

My ad blocker on Chrome works on Hulu. The screen just goes black for however long the intended ad is, then the video resumes playing. Kinda peaceful sometimes. Especially with not having to have ads blasted in my brain for a few minutes at a time. I get a mini-break in whatever I'm watching and can go do something else like...old school bathroom breaks or getting a refill or snack.

Ive had the ad-supported version for like 6 years, really dont mind them at all. Not nearly as intrusive as ads on other services like Tubi (which is completely free so its fair I guess)

I just watched The Orville, and there wasnt 9 minutes of ads in more than an hour.

From the screenshot it looks like you have Hulu ad and ad free version so maybe that's why.

Edit: Also, I recommend watching Kitchen Nightmares instead, if you haven't seen those. I love reality TV. It's what I watch while everyone else here dives into the Anime world :p

You gotta be kidding me right. Maybe the first 2 seasons they can get away with that. Anything after that if you see the new person with a whole ass camera crew following them you should know better. Im sure they give some bs story like "its for training purposes" but anyone with half a brain knows. Or maybe they are smarter than i give them credit for and they do know but pretend not to so they get cash at the end.

I contacted Hulu again, and no help. They said certain shows have ads despite me being on a no ads plan. I'm now requesting a full refund.

Me: It's pretty frustrating to see that every single show I'm trying to stream on Hulu has ads. I've contacted Hulu before, and the previous reps mentioned that some shows have ads regardless of me on the "No Ads" plan.

Support: Yes, that is exactly correct. Just to set expectations, there are SOME contents/shows that are listed in the Hulu Streaming library that you WILL STILL gets ads. This is because the content is in the Network on-demand list. These ads usually show up when you watch a show from the content provided by TV networks like ABC, FOX, NBC, CBS, CW, CNN, SEC Food channel, History, Lifetime, ETC.

Me: So why is that not written in the FAQs?

Support: With the ads we are seeing on the current plan that has Live TV, it was not added on FAQ's because it was under the the terms of use for Hulu.

Me: I'm subscribed to Hulu No Ads with Live TV. I'm not talking about ads on Live TV. I'm talking about ads on Hulu streaming.

Support: Since you have LiveTV, similar to traditional broadcast television, live channels that you get with your Hulu ( NO ads) + Live TV subscription will INCLUDE ad breaks. For excluded shows, SOME on-demand movies/shows, DVR recordings, and premium content, they will STILL HAVE ADS since they are NOT part of the Hulu streaming library. We do not have control over those ads since it is the Network/Channel's discretion.

Me: So are you saying that shows that I listed would have ads if I subscribed to JUST Hulu (No Ads)?

Support: If you only have the plan Hulu ( NO ads)$12.99 you are not going to get any ads. But if you add Live TV on the plan, you will be getting ads.

Me: So why am I subscribed to No Ads? Why am I paying more for this? Show me where in the terms of service this is allowed. I'm looking at it right now. Section 3.5: Advertisements. https://www.hulu.com/terms

I'd like to cancel my account and get a refund. You can prorate the refund for 2 days since my account. It's ridiculous to me that I'm paying $76 w/ No Ads, but I'm still getting ads on Hulu streams. If I were to pay $12 instead, I will get No Ads according to you, despite what Section 3.5 of Hulu's Terms states.

I've only seen like one show thay has an ad before and after the show which is Grey's Anatomy. It's never during the show.
I've binged watched almost all 5 seasons of 911 and have never seen an ad during or after the show. There's like a 5 second ad that says Fox then tells when the new season premiers before the show starts.
