I'm not absolving him of culpability. I never said he shouldn't be banned. I'm saying that people that damn well know he has problems pile on him in topics when they could just shut up and not say anything. I just don't think Duncan should be on gamefaqs for his own good.

Obviously the shit he says will raise some eyebrows, and maybe he might just be a bad person, but I think his main issue is that he's incapable of fully understanding why he shouldn't say the things he does.

And I'm not just talking about his political views. Openly admitting to animal abuse isn't something you just bring up in a board like this.

Understanding social cues isn't what prevents people from spewing terrible bullshit on the Internet. You're inadvertently either excusing hate or offending autistic people.

I'm really not. I'm being specific to duncan, who can form sentences and communicate, but has displayed, several times, that he often doesn't comprehend simple explanations. I'm not sure of the particular terminology beyond "intellectually limited", but that was his beef, whether or not it actually had to do with autism.

I don't get people citing that as a huge thing. Anyone who's ever worked or even just talked shop with a job coach would know that most of their clients are people who can't handle more than conveyer belt assembly.

Newportbox100 is very similar, doesnt work, voted for Trump and casts Democrats in a bad light, mom and dad take of everything for him and is on disability. The only thing Duncan has over Newportbox100 is Duncan doesnt do drugs and get into legal troubles

CE meetups? Where/when was this? Do I live closer to some of you than I think?

There seem to be some misunderstandings about the behavior of disabled people and the ways it can come about. Let me shine some light on possibilities:

1. He is severely disabled and can't function like a normal person sufficiently to perform real world tasks like hold down a job, but could finish community college with social support. This does happen.
2. He is not disabled, and his conduct here on GameFAQs and maybe even in the real world is voluntary and for his own amusement.
3. He is disabled, but most of his conduct is voluntary because he is just not a great person.
4. He is disabled and his conduct is not voluntary. He would like to change, but is not being allowed to. Depending on what his problems are and how they affect him, he may need help that he can only get if others help him first. For example, he may need someone to take him to appointments, help him get there, or other things. If he is socially isolated and someone else controls his funds and travel. If they say no, no means no. Theoretically there should be services to help in spite of this if he really wants it, but I know from first hand experience this doesn't always work even if you try really hard.
5. His disabled and his conduct is not voluntary. He would like to change, but is being abused and not allowed to change. The common way of thinking is that if you have a disabled person and an abusive situation at home, they want to get rid of the person. This isn't always the case: the preferred pattern of abuse can require a "captive audience". Calling social services often doesn't help because abusers can hide what they do or even flip it around and claim that you are the one hurting them (if help comes at all).
6. Duncan might have problems, but he is lying about a significant amount of the details concerning his life, either because of delusions or complex feelings about his situation.

So, I do hope folks give this a bit more thought. It's not really as simple as it might seem.
