It seems like they exclusively make it so humans make the robots. Did robots ever make robots in any of them?

I always wanted Mega to be behind the scenes in X or become maverick (theyll never let him be bad)

Or just have Bass do something like be a creator to spite Wily or something.

I forget how independent King in MM&B was as far as Wily stand-ins goes. He seemed like the kind though.

We got pretty close. If X6 hadn't been made and X5's ending had been final, the idea was apparently an evil MMX who's gone mad with power in MMZ1. You also occasionally hear a bit about the Dark Elf being Iris and and Dr Weil being a replacement for Dr Wily.

I think good guys have insane potential to be great bad guys. Especially if you write their motive as super grey.
