So with Kamala being the MCU's first confirmed mutant, and with the bangle seemingly having the ability to unlock dormant powers and definitely being Kree technology, I have to wonder if the backstories for the mutants and the inhumans will be one in the same in the MCU, where there's certain people born with a dormant X-gene and Kree technology has the ability to awaken it.

Given how closely Captain Marvel is tied in with the Kree (obviously), I could easily see the plot of The Marvels next year being the catalyst that causes a surge of mutants in the MCU.

And perhaps the initial labeling of Ms. Marvel as a Djinn was intentional, to set precedent for people with Kamala's shared X-gene to be feared and loathed. While Djinn might be specific to a particular culture in this case, it's not like other religions and cultures don't have their own version of it. And religious intolerance towards mutants is a pretty big thing in the X-Men books.

didn't they say that bear guy in Black Widow was the first confirmed mutant?

I mean, it wasn't stated in the movie, but interviews might have confirmed it.

I know he's a mutant in the comics, but we don't really see him use any sort of special abilities in the movie.

They could have mentioned it in interviews tho

I think that now that they're saying Kamala is a mutant, they plan to introduce them naturally into the fold of the MCU

Seeing how they end up introducing Magneto will require some set-up, especially if he will still be a Holocaust survivor. Or maybe they ruffle some feathers and have Magneto being the survivor of a different genocide.

You could always say his mutation slows his aging. That or, since HYDRA was a faction of Nazi Germany, perhaps HYDRA kept him in stasis like they did with Bucky, knowing of his X-gene but couldn't use him because they didn't know how to control his power

The Halocaust is too ingrained into his character to change it.

But the whole point of the Kree is that they're galactic fascists who do a lot of genetic engineering. It makes sense they'd be tied to a lot of stuff in the Marvel universe
