According to a Twitter employee, Twitter considered adopting a stricter content moderation policy after Trump told the Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by" during the presidential debate, but Twitter chose not to act.

I saw someone in the chat I was watching bring this up. If that witness would have picked up and recorded the call, would it have been able to be used as evidence for the committee? Cause I know some places have laws where you have to inform the other person that youre recording them for it to be used in court.

That is state based, so it depends on what state the witness is in. I know from Dawkins antocs that maryland is a 2 party consent state, so if the witness is there, they would need trump's consent. I don't know about other states, but I would imagine all these witnesses are presently in the DC general area.

There's a reason you don't see a lot of Republicans talking about him running in 2024 anymore. This well has been poisoned, and they know it. If nothing else, this committee has at least been successful at making him less likely to be president again.

The problem is a lot of people would still vote for him.

It's also interesting that the witness has not testified yet, so this will likely come up in their testimony. At the very least, they will be asked under oath if trump did indeed contact them, so put that together with what they actually testify about, this could be big. I don't want to get my hopes up but I can't help but feel fired up right now.

This wasn't even the first time. At the end of the Hutchinson hearing Cheney mentioned two witnesses had received messages from the Trump camp asking about their loyalty.
