Heavy artillery like howitzers and High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) are among the big-ticket items that Ukraine has said it needs to target Russian command and control hotspots that sit behind the front lines.

The Pentagon on Friday confirmed that the U.S. has provided $8 billion in security assistance since Russias invasion in February, but Washington has committed to spending far more.
Earlier this year, Congress committed to spending $54 billion in traditional foreign aid and military assistance in a move to help squash Putins offensive.

There's always money for war, but nothing extra for social security and healthcare.

Not just that but anti-air and anti-ballistic stuff is expensive as hell. There's a reason our missiles cost a few hundred grand to a few million dollars each. Explosives are cheap, but getting them where you want with super precision? That requires some considerably expensive and specialized computer stuff and other machinery. If we fire a missile at something, it is hitting its mark.

It'll be a shocker to everyone, but Fox News is lying. The figure they cite is foreign aid to Afghanistan and doesn't include what we spent on our own forces.

And if reddit comments are to be believed, we aren't spending money so much as sending Ukraine shit we already had sitting on the shelf.

And even if reddit comments are wrong, we're not sending Ukraine boxes of cash. The government is paying American companies for equipment, so it doesn't leave the economy. America's fucked up, but I don't think this is one of the issues we have.
