That article literally cites The Washington Examiner as a source, and in any case even acknowledges that it's still being legally challenged and may have been an error. And it's over a sum of just 2.5k, probably less than the money paid for the manhours of legal work from either individual side...

News is old. She's been contesting it since 2019 as an error and it's only like $2k. Not really news worthy at all and just butt hurt repubs reaching. I only make $40k a year and once owed $5k in taxes from doing some OT.

she's paid 32% income tax over the last 5 years. congresspeople make 174k a year so she's paid at least $278,400 in income tax over the last 5 years. maybe this 2500 bill actually was, idk, issued in error like she says it was?

Being in error would make sense to me. When we moved offices, both our state and the IRS sent things for like three years acting like our old office was an active second location. We sent in the proper forms each time, but whatever system flagged it didnt get updated until the third time.
