1st time around: Dex with the Bloodhound Fang, and a couple of miracles (incantations or whatever).

2nd: Magic/Incantations with that pointy sword, I can't remember the name, but it does Scarlet Rot damage and I added poison to it as well. I mostly used the boulder throwing incantation and the red claw thing. I only really used 1 sorcery I think.

3rd: I was going to do strength but instead I'm gonna do some kind of thief/assassin. I'm using the dagger that does extra critical damage, a small parry shield, and the fire giant's braid as a whip. Also the black bow, and a pretty tanky spirit ash so I can stand back and just fire off arrows or whatever. I'm also using some cool talismans that I found on the first 2 times around, like one that increases arrow damage and one that makes me more hidden when I'm crouching, pots do more damage etc. The idea is to use more pots and items as well.

One more ending and I have the Platinum trophy too. My first run took me about 75 hours, then 35 for my second doing most of the sidequests I missed (which were a lot) and this time I'm probably gonna just gun it for the end. I have seen all the major secret and optional areas, I think I'm just missing a number of minor dungeons and mines and whatnot.

This bow build is actually really fun. Its a good play style for Elden Ring thats a bit harder to pull off in other From Software games.

Yeah the increased agility is such a blessing for bows vs other Souls game.

And I'm with you on the rock throw sorcery. It's insane how useful it is. Enemies that dodge attacks usually dodge too early, when the rocks rise out of the ground. And the range on level-ground is long, but if you fire it downhill it seems to have unlimited range, or at least as long as is practical.

Bow builds seem like they would be bad because the bows have fuck-all for scaling and don't do any damage

I think TC is talking about the Stone of Gurranq incant, not Rock Sling.

Yeah I need to use Alexander's ashes and the talisman that increases bow damage. With the barrage skill and blocking enemies in with the skeletons with great shield ashes, it's pretty good. For New Game +2 I'm surprised it's as useful as it is, but I do definitely need to whip out the daggers/whip a lot.

Also yeah it was the Stone of Gurranq, which is awesome.
