And if I did invest it would be in real estate or something I knew personally that made generations of my own family wealthy. At this point, I'm not sure what to trust anymore. I'm just glad I'm not the only one making money in my relationship and I hope the guys who are in that situation much luck. I think what cured me of stupidity early on was credit card debt. Seeing it paid off by sacrificing 1/3 of my paycheck every week for 3 years got me. I never ever forget just how stupid I really can be if I let myself though. So I tread carefully. I do enjoy playing Powerball and MegaMillions once every few months when I remember. I get two cards and play 5 numbers each. I sit there and try to see the numbers in my head. I think in 7 years I've won 100. Lost 500 --- "Torture experiments. We're all monkeys." "They hurt you?" Lotto is absolutely terrible compared to gambling. For example, the WCLC (western canada lotto... commission i presume) sets the payout rate for all games at 50%. That means whether you buy a scratch ticket or play the 6/49 or Super7 or the Pick3 for every dollar you spend your expected return is 50 cents. --- "Salt cures Everything!" Lots of people near me buy scratch off because they have better odds of paying off its said, but I don't really play to win. I play on the long shot I hit the jackpot. The money I spend I piss away for fun. The idea and hope that lasts until I check the numbers sometimes weeks after the drawing is what I really enjoy. I'm good at delusion. I enjoy thinking about what I'd do and how it would change things. Sometimes I only ending checking the tickets to make sure I didn't really win. I don't wanna be that guy who won and forgot to check. I guess if I played regularly I'd like better odds. I'm the same at casinos. I go for the long shot.
