Way too gimmicky. Realistically, he would be absolutely nothing like Venom, apart from being a dark parasitic lifeform with shapeshifting abilities and a hivemind. The idea that he has Venom's symbol, and created the ~~symbiotes~~ is kinda trash imo, like a symbiote dragon, is really out of left field, and that's not even what they fully are, and Grendel, and all this junk. IMO. We're talking the difference between High Jackman and the original original Wolverine here, like from the debut. Makes more sense if the symbiotes are a distant, distant branch of the King in Black/Knull's abyss creatures, and are so far removed from the original that he even has to reprogram them to do his bidding again, as they've been left rogue for so long, that's why they mindlessly kill stuff and seek out cosmic gods for seemingly no reason but to be evil. With no goal in sight, like a disease, sewing seeds of their own destruction on small scales.
