Like you see them and think they're slackers or the type of people who offload what should be their responsibility to others so they can lead a carefree and childish existence?

Unless it's directly affecting you or your community, why would you care how another person lives their life. If they try to offload their responsibilities on you then you tell them "no" or you're enabling them. I see no problem here...

I'm just asking your impression of it. Everyone is judgmental, don't lie.

Yes, but we should be aware of our prejudices and stop them as they are harmful for all

It's not exactly what you're asking but my boss who doesn't make much more than I do (I make about 35k he makes maybe 42k) is able to have his wife not work, has two kids, and has already gone on three family vacations this year. I just don't know how he manages it. He's only a few years older than I am as well.

My wife needs to work and our expenses are much less and we get no vacations and have no children.

The entire premise is stupid. If you are single, childless, and have disposable income (these are the three things that come to mind as "many responsibilities") why does that you make you "childish"? Life has no inherent goal, and as long as you can survive and do what you have to, who cares what you do?

I've had people try to say something about it to me. I told them that I made the choice to have sex using birth control and it isn't my fault they have 3 kids that eat up all their income.

I get that they may be jealous of all the free time I have but it's personal choices.

"Oh must be nice to have all that free time." (It is, it's awesome)
"Oh, you don't want to help populate the earth?" (No, not at the expense of my sanity)
"Oh, must be nice to not be an adult." (LULZ)

They must have investments or inheritance or something. $42k would not easily support a full family plus vacations,.no matter where you live. Assuming US or Canada.

To be fair I made this topic after feeling called out on another board for my own lackadaisical lifestyle...

no, that's the endgame imo. To have as few responsibilities as possible

True but to get there effort must be made upfront to alleviate future burdenat least in theoryhence why we have things like mortgages (you owe now with the hope it will eventually turn into equity).

Youre wasting your time. CEs full of individuals unable to think outside of the box.

Let them waste their lives content with what they know, rather than what they could learn.

And what have you demonstrated that gives you pride of place to look down your nose at your online peers?

Nope, cause I am one of 'em. My wife and I both work, and we have to tidy up our apartment and do renos (we own the place), but that's it. All my other responsibilities are chosen, like dealing with my book stuff and playing in a band.

So you aren't one of them. Full time job, marriage, renovations... sorry, you would count as having responsibilities. To me, this topic is more about NEETs

He owns his home fully so that's part of it. And the vacations weren't major (driving out of town for like 4 or 5 days), one of which was visiting family. I just don't know how he makes it work with 2 kids on top of all that.

No mortgage or monthly rent is huge though. But I do admit that I couldn't do $42k with 2 kids. I have 4 kids and I do know that they are expensive.

I have no idea where you live but that sounds....unlikely at best without significant supplementary income.

The only time I have a problem with people like this is when they think were on an even playing field. I pay for everything I have and have since high school.

If your parents bought your car, pay your insurance, cell phone bill all that dont even think about acting like were the same.

If they are offloading their responsibilities to others then yeah, if they've just set up themselves to not have many responsibilities then good for them.
