basically, you use a pretend japanese 90s PC and dial up a BBS where you can download a bunch of games. (I suppose the transistor one is the main one but the other secondary games are also pretty good so far.)

this is the last Zachtronics game as Zach got some kind of dream teaching job and won't be making them anymore... 8(

I've only played Spacechem, that game was great. It eventually got super hard though and I dropped it because levels just took me way too long

That guy must be some sort of genius, putting out one game like that is hard enough but there's like 10 of them and they're all complex as fuck

I tried Spacechem and yeah, it might be a bit harder than some and maybe a bit more tedious. The ones I would recommend are: Shenzhen I/O, Exapunks, and Opus Magnum.

This one it seems there are 7 games, which is 1 solitaire, 3 main "build projects with histograms" games, and 3 other mini-games.

I'm not sure if I should describe the games or not, since downloading them and discovering them is a part of the experience. I'll spoiler-tag them; it's not conventional spoilers, but it is a part of the experience to discover this by playing:

Japanese-themed solitaire

A sort of hybrid between minesweeper and picross/sudoku where you paint an 8x8 tiled dungeon based on certain dungeon building rules.

A game where you make electronics components to solve problems out of silicon (primarily making NPN and PNP transistors, and eventually using capacitors to add delays.)

A japanese-themed hybrid tetris/match-4 game. it's a little bit too fast for my liking so I have trouble enjoying it (it's supposed to be an arcade game).

An extremely creepy japanese-horror-themed game where you grow "seeds" into body parts by applying conversion (seed -> skin, or seed -> meat) and division (seed -> 2 seeds) rules, and you see the results sort of 4th-dimensionally (or temporally... it's 2D graphics).

A model kit building simulator, where you can build a few models of japanese-themed robots. I think there are only three models though. Putting them together is fun, but so far painting them is extremely tedious.

A sort of food-factory game where you connect unnecessarily complex machines together to automate food cooking and delivery. the machines generate events and have ports to send or receive the events, so you plug the ports in the right way and position the machines in the right places to prepare the food according to the request.
