I got a call from my sister last night, informing me that my uncle had committed suicide by hanging. I barely slept and have been just shocked and distraught all day. I had absolutely no idea that he was thinking about that. The entire family is pretty torn up about it, especially my cousins, for obvious reasons. One of my cousins was planning to visit him along with her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter in two weeks. She's absolutely devastated by it all. I guess there's no overarching point to this thread beyond just venting. It's been over 24 hours since I found out, and I'm still just...stunned. I've been trying to process it as the family grieves, but I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around it. I'm no stranger to this scenario, best you can do is be there for the people who were closest to him, and as hard as it seems, dont focus on the "why" because it makes things worse.
