Out of curiosity I just went to the archive site to look at TC's history of topics he's created.

It's pretty sad.

Yeah. I'm 38 and living with them.

The property they own has 2 homes on it. One is theirs, and one is for me and my brother. My brother got married and moved out, so it's supposed to just be me here... But they kind of just moved into my place and now it's all of us. I don't care for this situation, but if I suggest that I move into their old place they get angry over it and refuse. They don't see a problem with it, and they do own it, but I really wish I could get some space and privacy sometimes.

Not anymore, but I moved back home a few years ago when I was 33 or so. I was having rent issues, but they were doing worse than I was.

Had I not moved home when I did, they would have lost the house

I live with my mom. I'm autistic and have some challenges I need help with.

No, but I probably will eventually go back because rent is too high. I have the entire second story to myself at my parents house and theres no rent to pay. Theres also a private bathroom.

I honestly wish I could rent a small apartment for a fair price, but this is America, guys. Heaven for it you want a studio apartment for less than $1800/month

Housing here is the 2nd most expensive in North America and rent already being high has been increasing now cause the government here passed a law recently allowing land lords to raise rent.

So we have multiple families living in one home renting out basements, not having your own place isn't looked down upon at all here.

Almost 30, and still am.

I was this fucking close to being able to afford a house/mortgage when the market decided to get stupid and set me back probably another 10 years (fucking 30%+ price spike, then interest rates doubled over 2 years). Kind of seems like the options are to live with parents or just rent forever.

Yeah it's depressing. I've never had a place of my own (living with my sister) because of this.

if relative count then yes. it's so i can make rent and help out.
