I'm curious if Best Buy US is just trying to jettison extra copies of these games. "Price in Cart" means it isn't a Nintendo-sanctioned sale.

Game is incresibly boring

Is having a full team 7-10 levels higher than opponents throughout the majority of the game fun?

I had a lvl 50 Togekiss, Gyarados and Magnezone by the 7th badge that had seen battle only a handful of times

I played on set style with no battle animations and didn't have to switch out from Infernape for most of the game so I stuck an amulet coin on him and mashed the A button

Team Galactic still pulls out glameows and stunkys even in the hideout

I haven't thought much of BD since I stopped playing it. Beat the E4 after putting way too much time in the underground and then didn't even do the island

Lol, sorry to upset you both so much. I just don't like it. Never used it when it was optional. I'm also hardly a "Pokemon fan," as I've played very sporadically over the years.

Still won't buy it, incredibly soulless remake that proves there's such a thing as too faithful

What's fun or entertaining about grinding in Pokemon? Walking back and forth in specific parts of a grid, seeing the same thing hundreds of times, spamming the A button and watching an EXP meter lightly fill up?

Pokemon is so easy that you don't have to grind, so adding exp to what you're already obtaining makes the game so easy it's tedious.

Also the entire gameplay of Pokemon is just pressing A so I dunno what to tell you there.

And yeah, it's already easy enough without overleveling every gym leader even more.

Not to mention most gym leaders only have 3 pokemon

It actually becomes a bit more challenging if you use a full 6-team party. With EXP Share you will become overleveled without even trying, especially since modern Pokemon games even give you EXP for catching wild Pokemon (I assume this was kept for BDSP as well). Without it, you can keep your team at fairly balanced levels.

Modern EXP share is full exp, right? So you're essentially getting 6 times the experience. It's like grinding "just your starter" in RBY, but your whole team gets overleveled, too.

iirc its half exp for everybody else. also i think it varies by level, so lower levels get more a bigger amount

Non-combatants only get half. Everyone who does get a turn in battle nowadays gets 100% though, whereas in the distant past it would get divided.

The thing is, most of the modern entries also scale exp based on level difference, so the mons who are usually on your bench (and therefore not getting the full exp) will usually be some levels behind, which makes up for some of the 50% they would lose.

So it's roughly 3.5 times exp instead of 6 times. Still, they've never been good with balancing levels and EXP share makes it worse. Off-hand, I think DP was as close as they ever got to good exp balance.

That was hidden by the fact that in the time it took you to fight one battle in DP, you could fight 2 in any other game

I bought it for full price, looking back it isn't even worth 10 dollars. Even ignoring the art style which is polarizing for some, they did nothing to fix the issues with the original games, which were solved for the most part in Platinum.

The general spread of pokemon is very poorly implemented, there are very few fire pokemon throughout the game and gym/E4 members still use pokemon that don't follow their type, not to mention that the controls clearly were ported from the original game style, as analog has a habit of colliding with pixels it shouldn't.

The overall amount of available pokemon is close to 900, and even excluding legendaries, starters and region exclusives, that's still a high number to work with. I would have loved to have a wider selection throughout the region, if only to fix the issues of some types just not being readily available prior to after E4.

I had to keep changing my team to avoid being 12 levels above everything.

Then the elite 4 came and stomped ass for like 4 hours.
