You are surviving and evading for the xenomorph, there is no killing it, driving it off is all you can do.

Androids can be destroyed but are very durable.

i like how the alien adapts to how you play

if you hit it with the flamethrower a lot it will start to back off a bit if it sees you have it equipped or it'll try to get behind you more

There are many games like Alien Isolation and it does it's job well.

Whoever said there isn't action forgot about the shotgun, the flamethrower, the bombs, and a number of other weapons you get. Alien Isolation lets the player face humans, androids, and aliens, and can kill some of them. The Xenomorph isn't necessarily something you can kill with a gun, but there are ways to "beat it" using weapons temporarily until you find another means of taking it out for good, and learn more about the alien's role on the station.
