How old were you?

I took one of my dad's beer out of the fridge and tried it when I was 16. It was nasty.

Now I love beer.

6th grade, so 12 I think? We stole a bottle of Jack Daniels from my dad and drank about 1/3 of it. My friend puked, it was grand.

I had my first drink when I was 4.

My family went to my aunt's wedding and afterwards, the dinner. At the dinner, the servers poured champagne into everyone's champagne glasses, regardless of age.

So I went through 3 glasses of champagne that night thinking it was funny-tasting ginger ale.

My aunt and my parents thought it was very funny at the time.

And I had my first beer when I was in in 2nd grade, at a backyard cookout.

My first taste of hard liquor (Kentucky bourbon) was when I was in kindergarten. My grandfather used to have two fingers worth of it after work. And I wanted to see what it tasted like. So he poured me one finger's worth and told me that I would have to drink it all. After the first sip, I gagged and begged him to not need to finish it.

To this day, I still hate Kentucky bourbon.

not sure. Had sips of wine or beer on rare occasions as a kid. First sip of liquor was early teens. First time I ever consumed enough to feel noticeable effects was 18.

Probably 14-15 I had a taste of an adults.
18 is the first time I remember drinking an a family function but I wasn't driving anywhere and it was at my house.

Not a big fan of alcohol.

18ish. More as taste of wine. Not much of a taste considering it tasted shit.

Had a taste of my cousin's beer at a family reunion when I was like 10 years old or something like that.

I could also drink wine at Thanksgiving when I was a teenager but didn't really like it.

My first taste of beer was in elementary school. But it was just a little sip, nothing more.

The first time I actually had a drink was in my early teens.

My great grand parents are Italian and used to say that red wine will put some hair on your chest. So I think we got a few sips here and there probably around 10-12. Never tried beer or anything else until 16 or 17.

So I would've been 22, but that doesn't sound right, I could've sworn I was older than that.

In any event, I had 3 shots of Captain Morgan and a 7am shift the next day, and I was miserable.

My grandfather would rub whiskey in my gums while I was teething. My mom gave me champagne on New Years when I was a boy like 10 I think. I got like wasted for the first time when I was 16.

16-17 for my first ever beer. 18 when I first really "drank". 19 when I first got real drunk. These days I don't really get drunk.

21, at my wedding reception. Had some champagne. Thought it was gross, never had alcohol since.

Probably under 11. My parents let my try a sip of wine, or beer or w/e.

Though I had tasted it via sipping a beer once before being grossed out by it at like...12-14ish?

Its hard to go to that many VFW cookouts and pancake breakfasts without someone making you drink a beer. Lol

My mom was on the religious side so my dad couldn't really tuck into some hooch like everyone else.

Like he could make a 5th of Beam last six months.

I would sneak and pour enough in the cap and take little tastes.

Three years later I was running around with my pals drinking Colt 45, Ole E and Wild Irish Rose.

Anyway went on FB after about six weeks of being off and learned that one of my ole pals died last month due to drinking.

So I figure I'll be gone too in the next five years.

Jeez, I thought everyone had parents that would give their kids something to drink *before* they had a chance to develop a glamorous view of alcohol (the 'forbidden' allure).

I never realized just how prudish modern parents are nowadays.

Technically I had a sip of wine for my first communion in 2nd grade. Otherwise 21.

Had some champagne on Boxing Day when I was 7.

I used to get drunk in my grandparents' basement with my cousins during Christmas dinner or whatever when I was early teens. Don't remember how old exactly

I voted 19, but that was the first time I drank drank. But I had I sip of Mike's when I was 14

I sipped a beer as a kid.. Did the kid yuck face thing.

Got drunk my first time as a 15 year old.

26, and I didn't consume it so much as I took a sip and didn't like the taste of it.

Haven't touched alcoholic since then.

6. Was at a restaurant with family. My uncle ordered beer, I ordered apple juice, the waiter managed to mix them up.

First time actually intentionally drinking alcohol was when I was like 24 though.

Grandmother always gave everyone. EVERYONE a small glass of wine with easter dinner.

Oh. I voted wrong then. I was about 7 years old. I thought it was koolaid and it was red wine. Tasted awful and is probably why I hate red wine to this day

My dad let me try a sip of beer at like 9 or 10. I remember having a small cup of wine at Christmas at around 12.

First time I got drunk was around 15 off everclear and Cranberry juice. Not a great choice for a first binge drink session.

I've had random one-off beers when I was a kid. The first time I actually got drunk though was 15

It was like 1985 when I took my first nip.

By 1990 I was drinking on 40s and Bum Wine.
