in sci fi, often a common theme is the super ancient galactic forerunner species. Aliens who built the first civilization and colonized the galaxy and then vanished, leaving behind mysterious ruins and technology What if it turns out that we are that species. Maybe we haven't found aliens yet because they don't exist yet. They either haven't even arose from evolution, or they are all in the stone age. Maybe someday future aliens will talk about humans in legends about the past of the galaxy. And they will dig through our ruins That means we don't get to meet cool advanced alien species. ...
