Was told last week that it could be a monthly increase of $50 to upwards of $200 per month. I was already pissed about a $200 increase, but the offer they put out was an increase of just under $400 per month. The current renting/housing situation in this country is terrible.

What the actual f. $400 increase? That's bullshit dude. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I'm going to be renting a place soon as well to return to school in the fall. I was last there at the end of 2020. The cheapest places around there were $750/m. Now it's $950-$1k. Not that bad relatively speaking but it still really sucks.

Went from $1800 to $2200

That's before things like pet fees and trash pickup fees, forced cable etc.

Mine was a temporary deal of $200 increase from good behavior/punctuality with payments. If the offer wasn't taken, the standard rate of increase was going to be $1000 more.
