When it was revealed that Freeza survived Namek, despite only having half a body, being blasted by a pissed-off Goku, and then the planet exploding while he was still on it. All of that just to bring him back so he could be fodderized by Trunks. Then the series got interesting again when it was revealed that the next series of threats were going to be energy-absorbers, which felt organic since Goku had basically become the strongest person in the universe and there wouldn't be anyone naturally more powerful. But then the real threats were revealed to be regular robot people who were stronger than Freeza and super saiyans just because, and at that point I knew that the series had jumped the shark. ...
