That's actually illegal for your employer to fire your for talking about pay rates. Just threatening to fire you for it is illegal. Take that picture to an attorney that specializes in labor law if you get fired.

I had a meeting with my manager at my last job where I asked for a raise based on what I knew other people were making. I had the same title, more responsibility, and always had above average employment reviews. They told me the same thing, that I shouldnt be discussing wages with other people.

Honestly, I probably would have been okay with a little fucking empathy. I know middle management doesnt have much power and I liked that job, so I would have accepted bro that sucks, well see what we can do. But nope, they told me to stop talking about it. I peaced out for something better in the next month.

A lot of employers dont seem to understand (or they hope their employees dont understand) that "at will firing" means nothing, and if you fire someone without a real cause and they decided to take it to court, that can get the place of employments guts reamed out big time.
