Damn this feels good.

Was chilling with some family last night, talking about all the bad things in California these days, high costs of everything, talked about moving to a different state...at the end we laughed and were like na, its still worth it...as we sit outside in the back yard with 70 degrees low humidity weather, no mosquitos destroying our ankles, no pests to worry about, no worries about thunderstorms coming, no worries about abortion laws cuz our lawmakers are not batshit crazy, and just enjoying some drinks.

Ive never been to California, but it seems nice.

Id rather live here in CA and pay more for quality living and rights to bodily autonomy. As a minority, Ive never had any desire to live in a red state. However Im privileged that I can afford to live here comfortably. I truly feel for the women, minorities and LGTBQ+ who arent in a position to leave.

CA needs to secede from the rest of the US and stop funding the red states and their shitty archaic dystopian laws.

Nope, the tents and druggies you all see blown up on the news are really just in specific streets in specific large cities. The remainder of those large cities have your standard amount of pan-handlers and obviously you get none of those in the vast majority of suburbs. People killed incidentally by shootings happens in ghetto areas really, areas that you never go in your entire life because theres no reason to.

A huge part of the state is hills/mountains and a large part of those are uninhabited and/or camp grounds / parks. When the fires are massive they affect air quality. Otherwise thats not a threat to the vast majority of people.

All the hate Cali gets is because people generalize based on some bad stories. I honestly think a big part of that is people are jealous and Californians are somewhat arrogant about the fact that we live in the best state, so that turns people off.
