My prediction: Soldier Boy will remove Homelander's powers with his chest burst thing then the boys will kill his weak ass.

yeah the goop from hughie's ear might be an indication of this. i'm guessing butcher is hiding his reaction or he's tougher so it hasn't affected him as much. i believe a quick thing was hughie initially having trouble with the toast and opening the jar, then even after temp V wore off he had no problems with either

homelander has no reason to see soldier boy as anything other than a threat to him and his image as america's greatest hero, he wouldn't go for any sort of team up. soldier boy's motivations beyond snipping loose ends and removing his flawed replacement elude me. he doesn't exactly seem "good," but i don't see him wanting to hurt anyone except vought people

Ehhh it might go down like Homelander kicking Soldier Boy's ass and press-ganging him into service rather than a true team-up, but I stand by my prediction of the two being on the same side by the end.

HL is a Trump analogue and SB is more old-guard Reaganism. There's a chance the writers do something unexpected but I only see that leading to the inevitable conclusion. The allegories are not subtle this season.

I did note Starlight's reaction when Hughie was able to open the jar himself.
