Even if its not addictive, Ive had friends who seemed more happy before trying pot. Before it was fun to hang out with them, chat, play, etc... Now every reunion ends up with lets eat some weed. Overtime I've found them less social or like distracted even if they are not on weed. Like their life is empty or they cant have fun without it

Shill for Big Pharmacy. They lose money to weed. No MD I know says weed is harmless. They say weed is less harmful than the alternative. Way, way cheaper and much more is known about weed which also makes weed safer.

I went more into this later on in the post, I don't blame you for being turned off by that being the first thing I said. I didn't properly communicate what I meant, which is moreso that the act of smoking has inherent risks like emphysema and damage to the lungs that relate to the act of smoking.

Weed might not have additives like ammonia that makes it worse for you, but inhaling smoke - not just tobacco smoke, any smoke at all - carries an inherent risk. Inhaling a narcotic, whether it be nicotine or THC, surely has associated health risks.

And I went into detail about how I feel about the legalisation and decriminalisation of pot, which I'm absolutely in favor of. A properly regulated market should be available for people to purchase marijuana at their own discretion, and I support the freedom of prisoners who were imprisoned on drug crimes pertaining solely to marijuana. I'd go so far as to suggest rehabilitative detention for stronger drugs too, depending on the severity of the crime. People should be free to make an informed choice about the narcotics they choose to ingest, with legalisation depending on the severity of the damage that narcotic has to their bodies. Marijuana is low-damage, especially compared to alcohol - which I'm an avid drinker of.

The one nitpick I have is with people saying that weed carries zero risk. And not in that "water is a hazard too", back-handed sort of way. Smoking carries an inherent risk. THC build-up, or the build-up of any narcotic substance in the body, carries an inherent risk. It may be low-risk, that only the heaviest smokers will feel in fifteen years or longer of consistent smoking - but that's still a risk. And in order for people to have an informed opinion of marijuana, they need to be aware of whatever risk pot consumption may have - which is low, but not 0%.

I'm not arguing against medical efficiency, that's an upside and a major reason why pot should be legalised. I'm not saying that pot will make your teeth fall out and turn you into a bloodsucking Satanist - I'm against that fearmongering moralistic bullshit. I'm saying that pot has negative effects on the body that are observable in long-time stoners, which anyone would know if they've grown up around long-time stoners, and to say that there's zero risk in consuming marijuana/THC is somewhat irresponsible. As tame as it may be compared to other narcotic substances, it is still a smokable narcotic that carries the same risks as any smokable substance or narcotic. Just because it's less risky and has upsides like pain management and the ability to combat disease, doesn't make it devoid of any risk.

And the reason I'm such a tight-ass about this is because I care about the legalisation and normalisation of marijuana, and I think it should be taken as seriously as possible. People don't take shit seriously when the conversation consists of "it has zero downsides and statistically it's less dangerous than water, and the people arguing against it are fundie christians and shills for big pharma". That is a fucking stupid avenue to go down when you're trying to legalise a narcotic.

Every pothead I've ever known smokes every day. My cousin's been doing it for over 20 years. Uncle did it for probably 40 years until he died

I only smoked three times recreationally. Never again because:

-It smells awful. Man, I have to stand outside any time someone I know smokes. It smells horrible.
-Almost everyone I know who smokes is lazy, always opts for the easy way out, complains about having no free time yet spends all their free time smoking or sitting in front of the TV or browsing a forum/Youtube. It's like it makes them fine with being bored and unproductive...
-It smells terrible.
-I prefer to have a clear head at all times, and weed relaxes me to the point that I'm kind of panicky at how not in control and lazy I feel.
-It smells like garbage and it makes you smell like garbage.
-For some reason, it was a crutch for them to be creative or "deep".
-Everyone I've known smokes nigh-every day and blows so much money on it.
-The smell makes me want to vomit.

I can't stand the stuff >_< I'll just book a vacation to Disney World or something: infinitely more memorable, and it's something people will actually want to hear about.

Ive had it and so have a lot of people I know (in a legal state). Everyone I know who got it had abused edibles and concentrates. This never happens from regular flower to anyone I know.

I dont smoke much anymore. I did smoke everyday for a week last month while on vacation on Hilton Head Island. Right now I am on a tolerance break so I can get properly toasted at the El Monstero concert on July ninth.

People bring up the smoke inhalation aspect a lot, but you don't have to do it that way nowadays. You can use it in a dry herb vape and even add a bong, both of which significantly reduce the amount of smoke chemicals you inhale.

As I'm going into my 2nd year now, can confirm seemingly 50% of my law school class smokes/eats/vapes the devils lettuce...I mean you ever written a 20 page paper not high? It's boring as shit.

I use THC gummies all the time. Almost every day.

Smoked for about 5 years starting in high school but realized I was an absolute loser on weed, made me extremely introverted and lazy. Life definitely improved when i quit smoking everyday.

I think it's fine in moderation like most things but people who claim to need to be high everyday are in denial.
