Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright

I keep forgetting this game exists, but I'm tempted to get it before the eshop closes. I've never played a Professor Layton game before though. Is it worth getting if I'll only be playing it as an Ace Attorney fan?

Missing out in what sense? As far as story for either game goes, no. It's fun though. It's easier than the games from either series.

Just in a general sense I guess, gameplay, story, overall experience. Just wanna make sure I get the most out of my 3DS before the eshop closes and I don't want to have to buy an overpriced physical copy if I do miss out.

I mean, considering soon you won't be able to get it if you have any interest in it at all I'd just pick it up. It's definitely not a bad game. As a fan of both series I enjoyed it a lot.

No, unless you absolutely really really really want to play the complete series.

The plot is largely just okay, with some really, really bad twists near the end.
The characters are all largely disposable and forgettable with the exception of the main cast and 1-2 standouts.
The majority of the game is geared more towards Layton in terms of gameplay and overall tone/presentation. I'd say it's like 70% Layton, 30% Ace Attorney.

If you're just considering it as an AA fan, I wouldn't be all that concerned about missing out on too much. It's just okay overall, and it's more Layton than AA.

If you enjoy both series, it's great. You should get it even if you're a fan of just one of them.
