I can see some of the criticisms people have with it, they're valid, but there are definitely things it got right. I didn't come into this with a long history with TMNT so what was there really struck a chord with me, especially with the characterization given to the turtles. That in particular was extremely on point, absolutely loved it.

Wherever they go for here you want someone like that writing the story beats because they definitely get it.

Imo the Subway scene was top-shelf and it was mostly all downhill from there. Probably held back by the fact that they clearly edited in the real Shredder at the last minute, which wouldnt have been a problem had they not stupidly tried to mae the white business guy the Shredder to begin with. <_<

Also Splinter becoming a ninja master from a book rather than being the pet of a real ninja...

I understand it's an adaptation but there's no need to go out of your way to make it strictly worse than the source material. <_<

I still haven't watched it. The look of the turtles themselves was really off putting for me. Is it worth a watch, though?

Same here, though Fitchner's character being a bad guy seemed pretty telegraphed early on..

If you found the old movies/cartoons enjoyable, I'd say yes - not an Oscar worthy film by any means, but generally fun (imo). The turtle's looks didn't seem that distracting, maybe because of all the CGI in other recent movies

I kind of annoyed that Splinter and the turtles were April's pet before they're mutated, but ultimately it doesn't really matter.
Back then, many haters spread the lie that "they change the turtles into aliens!" What really happened was the stuffs that mutates them were from Alien origin, and the turtles was regular earth turtles.

I thought the movie was fun. Was it a cinematic masterpiece? Of course not.

Did I enjoy watching it? Sure.

I'll probably never rewatch it unless I happen to see it on tv or something. I'm not a big TMNT fan though, so that might impact my view on it

As bad as the second one was, I liked the change in direction they were going for where it was leaning heavily on fan service, stuff from the original cartoon, and the 80s pop culture.

They should have done that from the start with the 2014 movie.

The second one was definitely a step in the right direction. Its biggest downfall was that it was a sequel to that awful first one.

No. That was too weird. The armor itself was alright but why they gave him 80 wrist blades is just on the wrong side of absurd.
