I dont believe they do.

I think Thanos had kept tabs where every one of them were. But if he has the ability to detect them he wouldnt have needed Gomara to tell him where the soul stone was.

Well, Thanos gave the mind stone to Loki, so I have to imagine he had a fail-safe to track it in case Loki failed.

It's possible they could track them at short range but not at longer ranges.

I think it was just an easy gambit for him. It let him see what could be done with just one infinity stone in the attempt of taking over a planet and had he lost it to earth, like he did. He knew exactly where it was to collect later.
