I don't have a dog, but thanks for posting this

I got a little nervous there since the one I give my dogs has chicken in it, but it's not the home cook chicken one.

I give my dog Purina, and recently he's been having major stomach issues. Recently found out there was a recall about a year ago for bags of food with expiration dates between April and September 2022 due to salmonella.

We're thinking despite the fact that the recall was in March of last year, the store we got the food from didn't take the bags down for whatever reason, and so the bag we most recently bought was contaminated. We threw out said food, cleaned out ALL of his food related stuff (food bowl, food container, scooper we use to scoop the food from the container to the bowl, and the mat the food bowl sits on), and bought a new bag (exp. date of November 2023), and now he seems to be mostly fine.

I just find it weird that we encountered this issue in the past week (even though the recall was over a year ago), and now there's ANOTHER recall on a DIFFERENT brand of dog food. wtf is going on?
